I just tried this on Windows 10 latest, and it works fine. You need to install http://gadgetsrevived.com/download-sidebar/ in order to add support for gadgets back in. The you can download the gadget from the wayback machine and load it in Windows 10.
However, its pretty useless to me at the resolution I run my main and external monitors. The gadget is too small to be useable.
