Hi, I'm new here, but have been (and am!) a happy Squeezebox user for
several years.
I am running LMS on an old computer (Linux).
As I buy more and more IoT devices, and since I have a squeezebox in
every room of my house now, I was wondering if I could have the Radio,
Touch, Boom or Controller to momentarily:
- pause the playlist if it is playing
- play a sound
- continue the playlist as before
This would be enormously useful for me, as it would make it possible to
make my house "talk" to me to inform me about alerts and all sorts of
things. The same computer that is running LMS also has a 433 MHz
receiver, and can read all sort of signals from switches, motion
detectors, etc. By hooking into other scripts/programs, I would like to
send "audible alerts" to selected rooms for instance.
Is it possible? I guess it can be done by either:
- Use of a dedicated app
- By using ssh and use the "aplay" command directly on the device
- Using the API? I couldn't find a way to pause, play a file and then
continue.
Anyone knows, or has ideas?
