I also own PowerAmp and have used it in the past. I switched a few years ago to GoneMad Music Player. I have a 512GB SD card on my phone, and it handles my 38K tracks with no issues at all (handling large libraries is a priority for the developer). It uses its own metadata-based library, but can also browse by folder. It's quite configurable.
