+1 for piCorePlayer. I've built two of these (one with HAT DAC for feeding analog inputs and one with DIGI+ HAT for feeding a DAC). If you can follow simple instructions and snap something together, it is dead simple. And software setup easy. In both cases I'm also running LMS on the rPi units.
