For the past month have been having issues with my SBT part way through a song it makes a 'pft' sound and no further sound from the song, although the tracker shows it as moving through the song. This tends to be on the same song on an album but happening on a number of albums.
I am using a Synology DS118 with Logitech Media Server Version: 7.9.1 - 1504317335 @ Mon Sep 4 22:13:00 UTC 2017 The SBT is running Firmware: 7.8.0-r16754 I rip my cds in iTunes and then convert to FLAC using Max (I seem to remember being told initially that FLAC was better as the SBT/LMS had to transcode from ALAC) I have tried re-ripping but same issue occurs. I have tried not converting to FLAC but problem still persists. A few albums I have re-ripped several times and they are ok now. Up until February I had been using a Vortexbox. I never had problems with this but have very limited it skills so had not updated the Vortexbox to 2.0 as it involved updating the Linux os. This meant for a while I lost Spotofy but had used a Chromecast to listen to Spotify, I use Spotify to listen to new albums before deciding to buy. I was then using Tidal but wanted to use the FLAC quality. I needed to upgrade LMS to do this so I got the Synology in January this year, this was fine all worked well, I stopped using Tidal as the LMS app is not good in my opinion, issues with number of playlists it shows. As I was using 7.7.6 I could use Spotty so went back to Spotify. Up until a month ago I was running 7.7.6-116 but decided to update to the Beta as this seemed to be recommended. This was the first time I encountered the issue with the SBT cutting out, I though it may be the Beta so went back to 7.7.6 but it still happened so I have gone back to the Beta. I have wondered if it is a faulty HDD in the NAS but I have the DS Audio app on my phone and the tracks that are an issue play fine through the app. They also play fine through itunes. Still thinking it may be an issue with the NAS I remembered that when I first got the SBT I had downloaded LMS to my imac but went the Vortexbox route so my imac didn't need to be permanently on. The imac has 7.7.4 - 1415167000 @ Tue Nov 4 23:54:11 PST 2014 running. I get the same issue when using the imac as the library. Again I have checked the albums playing them in itunes and they work fine. Really don't know what the issue is. Any ideas?
