Not sure where you'd draw the line between 'cheap' and 'not cheap', but the 'Audio Pro C3' (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Audio-Pro-Addon-C3-Multi-Room/dp/B07CX4GQ39) is a nice unit. It has a really nice sound, with an app that lets you adjust bass and treble. I leave mine plugged in as a bedroom player most of the time, which means the battery is always fully charged when I need to use it outside, and it's always available as Squeezebox player. Works well with Philippe's plugin, with no need to adjust for any time lag.
