Some of my remotes have the same issue and it is the same as one of my Booms. It was a surface treatment which over time breaks down. It the same on a iPAL radio I have.
The rear of my Touch is plain hard shiny plastic - no surface treatment. I suspect your Touch issue may just be "dirt".
