I have a Netgear R7000 Nighthawk router towards the front of my house;
it's connected to a Netgear Nighthawk range extender/ap in the back of
my house via a cat6 run. The extender has a single ethernet port for the
"backhaul" connection to the router, so I can't share the connection
without another switch. I'd say the two devices are about 50-60ft apart
w/ quite a few obstructions. I know that before I had the extender, the
router was positioned in the middle of the home, but the 5Ghz signal was
poor towards the perimeter. I wound up moving the router to the front
and then added the aforementioned range extender towards the back, and
this provides really good coverage throughout the entire house for both
2.4 & 5Ghz bands. The SB Receiver is connected to the range extender's
2.4Ghz band, and there is zero channel overlap with other SSIDs at that
location.

Thanks for pushing me to try this. I didn't realize that you just meant
re-routing the wire away from the chip; I thought it involved actually
re-soldering the antenna to a different location on the board. Once I
opened up the box I realized how simple it was. Now it's just the
waiting game to see if the issue recurs over the next week or so.
