The newer of my two Transporters died a similar death this week. Fortunately I order two of those linked power supplies 3 years ago. Same surgery, same result. I can safely conclude that the life of a Transporter power supply is 7-8 years. Good as new...until the older unit's dies in 4 years from now, that is.
