Just to update you know why the server discovery doesn't work when the server is on the same box as the Documenter.
It's because you can't have two processes listening on the same ip address/port combination. The way LMS works is, it listens for client requests on UDP port 3483 and returns what they call a response packet back to any client requests, the response packet contains the port number and other stuff neccesary for a connection. But if the client is running on the same box as the server there is a conflict because you end up with two identical ip/port combinations. So if you have this local setup you have to enter it manually. Personally I have a raspberry pi fitted with a HiFiBerry DAC and an external drive for my music running 24/7 on my LAN - it's pretty easy to setup and sounds amazing through my Meridian setup. There's plenty on here that explains how to set this up. We can't stop here this is bat country.
