I am hung up over the quality of digital transports right now - and by
chance I found the best sounding 'transport' from quite an old streamer
in the form of a Marantz NA7004. More pronounced was the improvement as
demonstrated by an old Arcam Black Box 1 DAC which was given a new lease
of life by using the Marantz as a transport (exploiting the strengths of
a TDA1541A multibit DAC).

However, the NA7004 is a streamer with less functionality that most
newer streamers - so how do I make it more functional so I can make the
very most of its obvious strength as a high-end transport?

The NA7004 supports UPnP so I thought about running LMS on my PC
upstairs with the UPnPBridge 3rd party plugin, utilizing the flow
control aspect of the UPnPBridge (the NA7004 does not support gap-less
playback) - and sending data to the Marantz (which in turn connects to
the DAC of my choice). LMS also allows me to use Tidal with the Tidal
plugin (which effectively adds functionality to the Marantz) as my goto
streaming service. I then conveniently use IPeng from my phone to
control the music.

Will that combination work? Does the flow control aspect of the
UPnPBridge send data bit-perfectly to the NA7004?

Thanks.
