Yes squeezlite works with the generic cable and another USB cable I have which is a BBQ Full Rack similar design to the Curious with an isolated power line. The logs do show something with the Curious is bad but what? I have not tried another OS on the RPi but may try it as it's also one of the suggested tips on the Curious FAQ.
