About the only thing you need to be careful of is the power, which it gets via USB. For ultimate performance I run it into a laptop to capture the stream but only when the laptop is on battery power. I found when the PSU was connected it introduced noise. I used a Koetsu Rosewood Platinum cartridge on an SME 20 and matching tonearm, Sutherland Phd battery powered phono stage and Audio Research L22 tube Pre-Amp. The needle drops sound as good as the vinyl in side by side comparisons. Don't think the E-MU is available any more but yoiu may find one on eBay.
