Foobar and dBpoweramp are great if you're on Windows.
If you're on Linux (or happy to use the Linux subsystem on Windows) and your collection includes a fair amount of classical music, I'd recommend loudgain, which implements the original EBU R128 specification of -23 LUFS. For more information on why some tracks sound quieter than others, even with ReplayGain calculated and enabled during playback, 'these' (https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?112866-Replay-Gain-how-can-Peak-gt-1-And-how-to-create-headroom-for-Gain-gt-0&p=987234&viewfull=1#post987234) two 'posts' (https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?112866-Replay-Gain-how-can-Peak-gt-1-And-how-to-create-headroom-for-Gain-gt-0&p=987297&viewfull=1#post987297) from last year (and some of the discussion around them) may be of interest. I ended up rescanning my entire library with loudgain set at -23 LUFS (it's a nice way of stress testing your PC, too...), but for me it has paid off: these days I hardly ever touch the volume control. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ MainSqueeze's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=62220 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=112796 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
