I'm not sure I fully understand. The SqueezeAMP can take anything from 5V (not recommended) to 20V, ideally 12V. You can run this supply using normal cables, as you said you're not looking for an audiophile-type system (which is not SqueezeAMP anyway). Now, I would rather run the speaker cables to a cabinet, but that's really up to you. If the SqueezeAMP is "hidden", put it in a box like the acrylic one, it's better for heat & safety.
