Correct. TIDAL requires protocols and codecs which we can't support on
mysqueezebox.com alone. Therefore you'll need to run LMS.
All the LMS
setting and the web remote control (never use it) confuse the heck out
of me. Could I delete it from my Mac and still successfully stream from
the likes of Pandora and Tidal?
Not TIDAL.
I believe you'd be the perfect customer for the "Polyvection Core32
gateway" (https://polyvection.com/de/produkt/core32/): a small, easy to
set up box which runs enough LMS to get access to your streaming
services. Alas, it's not available yet. You could buy a Raspberry Pi and
install picoreplayer.org on it. It's not a turn key solution, but not
hard to install either, and less expensive. Lots of discussion around
the latter, and a lot of helpful people here.
