Otherwise, I'd set a 5V power supply with current limit at 0.25A max.
Connect it (it will drop of course). Then (when off) remove the WiFi
board. Retry, if Vcc drop is less, try limit Icc a bit less. Remove the
CPU board (ground yourself), and do the same. If Vcc still drops at
0.5A+, start removing some capacitors (twist and turn), with the ones
closed to the plug (a few 220uF), continue till you find the short. Use
a good regulated current-limited supply. When Vcc drop stops, you have
found the short. Ask Joe, myself for a repair or eBay for spare parts.
