The Simple Library Views plugin might help with your Ballroom 'sub-library'. My partner's musical taste is rather different to mine (some uncharitable people say I have no taste!), and this plugin allows me to identify the music she likes and makes a subset library view. It works well, but enforces a rescan for new and changed files every time the server restarts.
