May be a little late... 😅 But now it's possible : you can switch to line-in using LMS CLI. I use it with my google home (DIY jack output). My plugin is based on '\"SqueezePlay Admin\" from Erland' (https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?77494-Announce-Applet-Plugin-for-remote-administration-of-SqueezePlay) and 'indifference_engine's code' (https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?109870-ANNOUNCE-Line-In-Button-Applet-for-Radio) was a good inspiration too.
