This last summer I upgraded my router to an RT AX86U and now on stock
firmware 3.0.0.4.386_45934. Before my wifi was pretty weak so I had an
AP to get coverage. What I've found with the new router is it covers my
whole house very well so I no longer require the AP so I didn't
implement AIMesh. When I first put up this router I tried the RMerlin
firmware and found my Duet receivers were constantly disconnecting and
reconnecting. All the suggestions from the ASUS RMerlin folks involved
changing settings to the 2.4GHz wifi that would reduce the full
capability of the new router. I tried the stock firmware from ASUS and
all the problems with my Duet receivers vanished. Here's my current
2.4GHz settings and they work flawlessly with my receivers.
