Could the "buttons" be nearby? If yes then there are ways of doing it - for example NFC card reader and a bunch of NFC cards that represent different radio stations. Then to press the button, the user simply drops the card onto the card reader. You still get to manage things because someone has to associate each card with an action. If it would take too long to find the right card ... then physical buttons could be done as well. Projects for this often involve enabling kids to kick off actions.
