JJZolx, I had the exact same problem you described, until I Disabled Advanced 108Mbps Features on my NETGEAR WGT624.
Here is the NETGEAR description of Disabling Advanced 108Mbps Features.... "If disabled, the Wireless Router will disable data compression, packet bursting and large frame support."
