Files are aiff and apple lossless thru itunes.
I tried an ethernet cable between the router and the SB3 and I got the
same results, so I'm assuming it's not the wireless.

Also, I only started ripping songs last night and have about 150 songs
on my hard drive so it shouldn't be too processor intensive, right?

Should imagine it would take less than the time it takes to write this message to scan that number of file on that system!

Have you tried plugging the squeezebox directly in to your pc using a cross over cable (although this would mean setting up manual IP addresses on your SB and PC which would be complicated). Are you sure your router is functioning - do you have anything else on the network that works,at a good speed?

Do you have JAVA on your system. If so try running the software player softsqueeze on the server. You can get it by going onto the web interface http://127.0.0.1:9000/ can clicking on softsqueeze at the bottom of the left hand pane. If this works you have eliminated your server as the problem.
