The remote doesn't use JVC codes. Slimserver just happens (by default)
Actually, the original SLIMP3 had a Sony universal remote that used the JVC codes to control it. So it isn't by happenstance.
I haven't had any trouble getting either my MX-500 or Logitech Harmony remotes to work well with the SLIMP3, Squeezebox 1, or Squeezebox 2.
