I have an iPAQ hx4700 with 640x480 screen, which is very nice but spoiled by the fact that the PocketPC platform does not properly support VGA mode and most software is still designed to run pixel-doubled which effectively means the resolution is still 320x240. Hacks are available to force apps to run in native VGA resolution, but this usually results in unwanted side effects.
And to cap it all, there is not one single half-way decent web browser available for the PocketPC platform - PocketIE is a joke, NetFront 3.2 is barely useable but Minimo is at least getting there (maybe another 6 months and it will be good). I've had a 770 since 6 Nov and it wipes the floor with my hx4700 when used for web browsing. The 770 also has a better audio player than the hx4700, however the hx4700 has more horsepower and consequently is a better video player - the 770 struggles with 25fps video and can't currently display videos greater than 352x208. Hopefully this will improve in time but not holding my breath. As the 770 is designed as an internet tablet I'm not holding it's video shortcomings against it as it does the job it's designed to do superbly. The screen has to be seen to be believed - it's amazing, and Opera is a very good browser. -- Milhouse ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Milhouse's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=928 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=17837 _______________________________________________ Discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
