> Request 5 - User Defined Tag I appreciate your adding this request. You worded it in terms of an Ogg Vorbis user defined tag. My idea was just to let the user specify the name of some tag to be treated as Composer, etc. can be used. That includes standard Ogg Vorbis tags and ID3 tags. For example, iTunes lets you specify a Grouping attribute for tracks and the value in the CONTENTGROUP tag (ID3V2). I'd like to just specify a tag that exists in my files and tell Slimserver to start using it. This should work for MP3 files or FLAC files. I realize that for ID3v2 tags, the identifier stored in the file may be an appreviation but I think that complication can be handled one way or another. A question: If the user is able to choose any tag he wants to use, how do we predefine the hard-wired browse order for a not-yet-defined tag? An observation: Getting a short Work name is the key step for me to be able to use SS/SB successfully. However, the solution also requires being able to Browse Tags in the right sequence: Composer, Work, Conductor, album would be the most common sequence for me. That browsing sequence won't make sense for everybody and every possible additional tag. Request #5 becomes much more useful with the Multi-level browse capability. ---- enhancement req mlb v3.txt It looks finished to me.
