Now we see the flaws inherent in Windows... <<Help! Help! I'm being repressed>> Unfortunately there are no easy fixes for this situation.  As a professional Windows developer I run into this *A LOT* especially in a corporate network.   In Windows the  System  account does not  have access to the network, although a service that logs in as a named user can access the network it must be done using UNC conventions and not maped drives.  However you should still be able to access the port 9000 web interface.  Double check the user password on the service.  You may need to setup an account for the Slimserver service and assign it to the Local Administrators group or create a  Slimserver role and give it permissions to run as a service.
