I ran into a similar problem. As neighbors piled on the wireless products my SB1 started dropping out with ever increasing frequency. I bought a SB2 for my main system and moved the SB1 into the bedroom as my alarm clock. Streaming wireless 320kbps mp3 works flawlessly. A win-win situation.
