Sorry about the threadjack there, but it was just a bit discouraging to
see a couple of posts with folks disparaging 'average users' who may not
live and breath this stuff and want to spend every waking moment
fiddling with it...
So what you're trying to say is that your average user wife wants AAC support in the firmware? I seriously doubt that's that case and I think that's the real point. The average user doesn't know the difference between MP3 and FLAC and AAC and ALAC. Adding AAC to the firmware would not benefit the average user in any way that the average user would be able to comprehend. Nothing wrong with that, not disparaging average users, it's just the way things are.
