I have been poking around the forums and faq for a while but have not
found answers to this question.
I have used an audiotron for years. So, I am used to having my music
stored on a server and a music system that runs regardless of what is
happening with the pc.
I have not found a set of simple instructions to get the slimserver
(running on pc using winxp) to scan my music located on an NAS
(linkstation). (I did find various discussions of what I would really
like to have running, music store and slimserver all standing alone on
the NAS, but the technical requirements seem beyond my capabilities.
Hopefully, this is something that gets simpler in time).
When looking at the home\server settings screen, I can specify where to
search or store music or playlists, but it does not allow me to select
from network places. It also gives me an "oops" error if i select the
mapped network drive that i created for the music directory on the NAS.
