I too have "vintage" equipment, and I was looking forward to taking
advantage of the SB3's volume control, hooking the SB3 directly to my
ADCOM amp. I guess in the interest of safety I'll insert the ADCOM
preamp in between them and then get up off my arse and turn the knob
when the volume needs adjusting.

The "white noise" issue may only crop up one in a million times, but
with my luck, I'd be the guy to have an eye put out by flying tweeter
fragments.
