I don't think you'd have issues with leading 
zeroes, but note the version number of your PSP - 
see post #4.

Also note that user did not have a time out but a 
"Communication with the server failed. A DNS error 
has occurred (80410414)" message.  Your time out 
error indicates:

- you are connecting to a working DNS server

- your PSP *thinks* that SlimServer is there but 
it either isn't at that address or your PSP is 
somehow being blocked

You haven't enabled SlimServer - Security - Block 
Incoming Connections have you?  You can use this - 
in fact it's a great idea, but you need to put 
your PSP's IP address here if you want this 
protection, along with the IP addresses of your 
Squeezeboxes and networked computers.  If you have 
blocking enabled and your PSP's IP address is not 
on the Allowed IP Addresses list you won't connect.
