Thanks for the info Michael! The code definitely attempted the drops - they just failed with image/database corrupt/malformed messages... instead of erroring out gracefully at that point (and saying something about my DB being screwed up :) ), I think it just stopped trying to scan, leaving things very confused (as some data apparently was cleared, while other data wasn't).
