I think I'll try this latter suggestion. I have the new linksys USBBT100 bluetooth adapter, which has a range of up to 100 yards and covers my entire apartment (through several walls) without a hitch, so as long as I can set up the LAN connection through bluetooth, I should be OK.
I found the following website that addresses this issue: http://www.whizoo.com/bt_setup/ You also apparently need a bluetooth path/driver for the treo 650 to make this work. Is this what you used?
