Pressing the 3 buttons is for the program 'xPLHal' I've installed on my WIN XP machine (http://www.xplproject.org.uk/modules.php?op=modload&name= Sections&file=index&req=viewarticle&artid=31&page=1) It seems that the link doesn't work at this time. 'xPLHal' communicates with the remote. Pressing the power button sends the magic packet (it must be so) because after that my server is back again.
