Everything's running well but shn playback.
I have the mac shorten binary and lame installed, but get error
messages saving/changing the .snh playback preferences on the
slimserver.
In the process of troubleshooting, I started to look for convert.conf
and couldn't find it on my box (usr/lib/slimdevices or anywhere else).
Yes, on the whole Mac items don't live in the Mac Unix folders (not
an absolute rule, of course).
Could some one help me out and tell me where it lives?
You'll find it inside your SlimServer preference pane. Control-click
to Show Package Contents, and look inside Server.
You can have a file of your own to override this default. The
overriding file will live inside the SlimDevices folder inside either
~/Library or /Library, but I can't remember what it has to be named.
Generally speaking, things that you change from the default should be
in the SlimDevices folder if possible, as this does not get changed
when you upgrade the software. If you change a file inside the
preference pane, you will have to change it again when you upgrade.
