Cost no object? Obviously one SB per zone would be the most flexible. It doesn't take much thought to put a complete stereo system in every room - just some money.
I think you'd have to examine usage - how are the rooms used, and what are the likely listening habits? You mention a deck - if the deck is accessed via one of the three rooms, then one Squeezebox as the source for both the room and deck would make sense, although I'd still have separate volume controls in each. If you use a single source for speakers in more than one room you could use a single amp and impedence matching volume controls typical of multi-room audio systems. See companies like 'Niles Audio' (http://www.nilesaudio.com/) for such gear. What you lose with a single Squeezebox as a source for multiple rooms is the ability to control the box through the remote UI in any room except the one where the SB is physically located. That is, unless you use a PC, laptop, or PDA to access the web interface on SlimServer and control the box that way. -- JJZolx Jim ------------------------------------------------------------------------ JJZolx's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=20082 _______________________________________________ Discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
