I am an ex Roku (M1001) user, bought it during Xmas and spent the next month trying to get rid of background noises and low fi quality, then read that the dang thing transcodes everything to 48KHz sampling, no wonder the lousy sound! I finally had to return it and bought the SB3 and WHOA! WHAT SWEET MUSICS OVER DEAD QUIET BACKGROUNG!!! It sounds even better than my Sony ES CD player. But, here is the BIG BUT...I fell in love with Itunes music server and how EZ it is to arrange, sort, create playlists quickly and intuitively with Roku. Now I am painfully and excruciatingly trying to do the same in Slimserver, with every mouse clicks result in webpage refresh, no way to sort, alphabetize, group songs according to Artist/Composer/Genre since I am strictly a WAV. file users w/ no Metadata supports. Let me first say that I admire all those who put in their times in creating the Slimserver to power the SB box and all its variances (I loved those RSS news, environmental sounds with extremely high fidelity effects, i.e: The Rural sounds with distant barking dogs, a good half mile away you can clearly tell!!!), the commitment to leaving the digital bits perfect for audiophiles like me, but the people who created Itunes have totally and completely shame you all back to the drawing boards when it comes to managing music libraries! I challenge you to match Itunes usability for the superb Squeezebox V3, it sure is a killer device needing a killer app. Thank you and good night.
