I'm sorry for the confusion in my post. I'm working 60+ hours a week implementing a Business Process Management automation project, and I don't have time to do much (which is why this happened in November, and I'm just getting around to posting this now)
The instructions I read when I downloaded 6.2, told me that I would be automatically prompted if my squeezeboxes needed a firmware update. The same instructions however, informed me that if I wished to reflash the firmware, I could hold the brightness button on the remote. I was half expecting to be prompted, as these were bought used 6 months or so previously. I got no such prompt, but to be on the safe side (which now looks like an idiotic move) I forced a reflash of both squeezeboxes by holding down the brightness button. My wired squeezebox works fine. My wireless, now appears visually to function fine, but produces no sound. One thing that may or may not be a clue, is that I had my wireless squeezebox set up for large fonts, and after the reflash it still had large fonts. I would expect a firmware reflash to restore settings to default. I guess I could roll back to an earlier version of Squeezebox, however I do appreciate the bug-fixes/improvements of the latest version. I'm planning in the next month or so, to move my slimserver from my current Win XP pro machine to a new Linux Server with a Terabyte of redundant RAID 3 storage place (plus 80GB boot drive) (by the way... got 5, 250 GB WD SATA drives for $100 each and a Revo 64 5 port RAID controller for $180 -- A Terabyte of redundant storage for $680!) So... I'm not sure of the proper course of action to get my wireless squeezebox up and running again. In fact I'm not 100% certain it is the reflash, but it would be an amazing coincidence if it weren't. -- Chrismh ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Chrismh's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=843 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=20384 _______________________________________________ Discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
