Yeah it's elements of BSD running on a Mach Kernel so it's not really LINUX at all as Linux is a Kernel used to power GNU/Linux Operating Systems. However it's not really Free BSD but it is based on Free BSD, so it would have been more accurate to have said part of the BSD family. Anyway I'm just being a pedant and none of this really matters. I hear it's quite nice and it can be made more UN*X like (Darwin etc).
