Assuming your running XP on the laptop, try entering 'set PA_MIN_LATENCY_MSEC=50' at the command prompt before starting squeezeslave. Does this help?
both players are fed by the same wireless access point. the "bitrate limiting" is different between the players. should this matter?
Sync uses the lowest bitrate of all the players in the sync group. At least that's how it used to work.
