The answer depends. You need 'a computer' with the slimserver software
to be on, as the slimserver does the streaming, the Slim Device
SqueezeBox is slim and dumb.

But, with some NAS machines, you can run the slimserver on the NAS
machine, because they really are computers. Search the
forums and you'll see lots of threads about various NAS machines
that people have had success with.

So, you are depending on server software to stream the music,
but it doesn't have to be a PC.
