Except it is not about control, it is about money.
Maybe control leads to money.

Payola is getting back in the news. Old story, same
players, same goal: get airplay on radio, get sales.

I'm not sure there are such things as RIAA controlled
studios. The RIAA is about labels. The studio owners
and recording engineers are getting hosed these days
as are many of the artists and all of the fans.

If you want to buy a professional, well equipped
recording studio, there are many for sale at prices
only a fraction of the cost of the gear.
