Try deleting your slimserver.db file, then start up slimserver and allow it to rebuild the database file fully. For the reasons Ben mentions, the database system has changed radically between 6.2 and 6.5.
On the Last.fm plugin, are you definitely using the new version of the plugin for 6.5 ?
