I've retired my old living room Hifi set and replaced it with a new SB3
and two Behringer Truth B2031a powered studio monitors. These are
similarly priced to the audioengine set ($340) and I think they sound
really good. In fact I plan to buy two more sets of B2030a's (the
smaller variety @ $280) for my bedroom and kitchen setups. The Truths
have 75/150 watts a piece (30/50 watts for the 2030) and seperate amps
in each speaker.

The only complaint I have is that the auto-power feature (which would be
ideal in combination with the SB) is not sensitive enough. That is, if
you activate it, the speakers auto power off at low listening volumes.
So I had to turn that off :(

A colleague of mine has Mackies (more than twice as expensive as the
Behringers) and he says they don't have that particular problem.

I'm thinking of adding a small mixer to route my TV set's line out to
the Truths as well.

Regards,
Peter
