If the server recieves that data without unicode characters, and checks the filesystem and sees unicode, then the data may not be considered a match, and the "missing" files cleaned up. I don't know much about the MusicIP development process, or why unicode problems keep coming back, but I do know that they do handle more than just one code base. It may be that MusicIP is a big enough rewrite that something like this got left out. Best bring it up on their forum
