I looked at this option since I'm running out of patience with the Q-NAP NAS and I would prefer an open PC-based solution to host SlimServer. The issue is that they are tight on space inside and only take 2.5" inch drives so you are limited by capacity.
They are not unique to Evesham - they are made in Taiwan and distributed to a variety of outlets. I spoke to another supplier who told me it would be impossible to fit a larger 3.5" drive, so that means you are limited to 100Gb or so. Personally, I'm moving towards ReadyNAS NV as the best solution (not PC, I know). It would be good to have a micro PC, no CD ROM, no legacy ports, no audio, just a disk, a network connection and USB. -- Mark Norton ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mark Norton's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4722 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=22179 _______________________________________________ Discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
