It does sound a bit to me like the wireless router is trying to give them the same IP address, which would explain why only one can connect to the network at a time. Have you tried forcing the second SB to a static IP outside the range of your DHCP allocation - so something like 192.168.0.300, or 192.168.1.300 ?
