You're assuming that listeners are loyal to a local team. Much of the draw of the MLB streams, and the premium sports packages on cable TV is that you can follow out of market teams.

And even if the team is local, these broadcasts are usually over long distance AM radio where reception can be sketchy, and fidelity is always always low. It's very frustrating to have a station fade out on you right at a key point in the action.

I don't think I'm much interested in time-shifting for baseball coverage either. Part of the magic is the live aspect of the coverage.

I agree that computer based, audio Tivo package would be fantastic. But for my money it would need to handle both internet streams as well as locally tuned over the air broadcasts.

Audio Tivo and MLB Audio via SqueezeNetwork are two very different things. And for me, they don't really compete. There are applications out there that do the audio Tivo thing, but that's another thread.
