I have been using Slimserver for a year or so, and have been generally using the latest version from www.slimdevices.com and running it manually on my Debian Linux machine. I never got around to installing the startup scripts, so would have to manually run /usr/local/slimserver/slimserver.pl --daemon to get it running whenever I started the machine.
Rather than installing the startup scripts available through the wiki (http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.cgi?DebianStartupScripts), I decided I may as well just install the 6.2.1 package from Debian/Etch, which includes the startup scripts and generally better integrates with the system. However, there is a problem. I used to be able to access Slimserver from any computer in the house via the IP address of the machine running Slimserver, i.e., http://192.168.2.200:9000, but that doesn't work any more. In fact, it doesn't even work from the server itself - the only way to access Slimserver is via (literally) http://localhost:9000, which of course only works from the server itself. I've checked the following: * Slimserver is set up to not block incoming connections * Slimserver does not have passwords enabled * There is no firewall running on the slimserver machine * Port 9000 is open to the internal network on the router I even added 192.168.2.* (my internal network) to the list of allowed IP addresses, but still it doesn't work. Any ideas why I can no longer access the Slimserver web interface across the network? -- B. -- bbb ------------------------------------------------------------------------ bbb's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=5045 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=23147 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
